Today I asked Perplexity to draw me a "skeletal cartoon depicting social ostracism" and this is what I got. Pretty funny! Not what I meant by "skeletal", but that's okay.
The purpose was to get a visual to go with my thoughts today. Alexis de Tocqueville worried about a tyranny of the majority exercised not through the hard power of law and punishment, but through the soft power of social ostracism—that's what's on my mind. The event that sparked my reflection isn't worth recounting, but its effects on me are a good reminder to me to be generous with a smile and benefit of the doubt. Comments are closed.

Bailey BlogI'm an author, mostly of fiction these days. And I love to paint abstracts. But this blog is about anything. Like many people, I use the Internet space just to reach out. Categories
