"Death for Cause is a whirlwind suspense novel with characters in hot pursuit of deadly microbes from Vancouver to Jerusalem. It is a real page-turner with a surprise, but true-to-life ending."

Note: On the Amazon site, there are two editions for sale. The one with the orange cover is the first edition, which is no longer in print. It's the one with typos and some disorganized passages—the reasons behind creating a second edition! The red-covered one is the second edition.
Welcome
This site is about the works I have published, both fiction and non-fiction. It also includes info on my feature film, videos, and podcasts in which I've participated.
To delineate the highly disparate types of authored works, I have penned them using three variations of my full name, Kathleen Cordelia Bailey. The writings are categorized according to these in the pull-down menu on the navigation bar. The writings are grouped as:
* Five non-fiction books and numerous articles on arms control and defense, penned as Kathleen C. Bailey;
* A book of photography, essays, and poetry, penned as Cordelia Bailey; and,
* Three books—a diary of making an independent film, a novel, and a novella—penned as K. C. Bailey.

Some of the best works of art disappear as soon as you consume them and leave only a satisfying memory.

I was born in Dallas, Texas in 1949. My mother loved art and encouraged my loves of legitimate theater and of oil painting. Because my father worried these passions would not enable me to earn a living, I studied Middle East and Asian studies in college, earning a PhD from the University of Illinois. This enabled me to enter government service, where I became a policy-maker in arms control and defense affairs.
Regardless of what type of job I held to earn a living, however, I have always been an artist as well. I am a painter, photographer, and author. Because I have thought that my middle name should be good for something, I used it for my painting and photography. Hence, the book entitled Cordelia Bailey Photography. In addition to this fine art book, I wrote five non-fiction books using the name I went by throughout my professional career in government service, Kathleen C. Bailey. These books contain lessons learned about arms control and defense issues. I have written several articles on these subjects as well, which will appear with links on their own page. Additionally, I authored two works of fiction—a novel and a novella—and one autobiographical book on what it was like to make a feature film. The latter three were penned as K.C. Bailey. The reason I began using my initials for fiction was that a friend convinced me that I might be more successful in selling fiction if it were not clear that I am a woman. I don't think it worked. |
